About this app

Talking Ben the Dog puts players in front of a retired chemistry professor dog who passes his time eating, drinking, and reading the newspaper. Folding the paper wakes him so that users can poke or tickle to trigger animations, speak and hear their words repeated, or press buttons that prompt him to eat, drink, or belch while interacting with items such as his graduation photo. The same character can also answer a phone call that players record for later playback. These elements combine to support brief, lighthearted sessions where simple actions produce immediate humorous reactions without any need for extended commitment.

Daily routines and physical reactions

Ben remains seated until the newspaper is folded. Once awake, swipes, pokes, and tickles generate expressive animations while buttons trigger eating, drinking, and belching sequences. These short actions work together to create quick comedic moments that require no navigation beyond the main screen.

Voice repetition and recorded calls

Speaking into the app causes Ben to repeat the words in his own voice. The telephone feature lets users initiate a conversation, record the exchange, and save the clip for sharing. The recording function builds directly on the voice repetition mechanic to preserve the funniest exchanges.

Laboratory test-tube mixing

Switching to the laboratory presents two test tubes that can be combined in any order. Each pairing produces a different visual chemical reaction, encouraging repeated short experiments that contrast with the seated interactions on the main screen.

Boundaries of casual play

Many interactions remain short and similar, so extended sessions can begin to feel repetitive. The design supplies no long-term goals or structured challenges, keeping the experience suited only to casual, pick-up-and-play use rather than deeper progression.
