Open-World Building and Multiplayer Collaboration
Sandbox 3D puts a free-form 3D world in your hands, letting players build, explore, and role-play across hundreds of thousands of servers. This multiplayer simulation lets you join public or private servers, shape landscapes, construct buildings, place furniture, and set rules for your world or become a guest in someone else's. Creations are saved per server and hosts control access and permissions, so teams can collaborate on long-term projects. If you enjoy open-ended gameplay, shared creativity, and the freedom to design themed worlds with friends, Sandbox 3D provides the tools and social space to make that happen.
World Templates and Persistence
To help you begin building immediately, the game provides five starter world templates including a desert, race track, military base, stadium, and modern city. Persistent servers mean your builds and scenes remain available over time, so projects can evolve instead of disappearing after a session. Creations can be kept private or made public so worlds persist until their creators remove them. Flexible permission settings allow hosts to control access and enforce rules, helping manage who can edit the environment.
Avatars and Vehicles
Players can choose from a growing roster of characters featuring more than ten avatars and costumes, ranging from samurai and pirates to anime-style heroes and giant robots. More than ten vehicles—including cars, race cars, buses, helicopters, and jets—add mobility and spectacle to the experience, though they require practice to handle.
Game Limitations
The open world does not include native transportation by default; creators can move freely, but vehicles are separate additions that must be learned to operate. On public servers, allowing anyone to add or remove objects can lead to unwanted changes or conflicts over shared creations. Additionally, the game is most engaging with multiple players, meaning solo play can feel less interesting without collaborators to populate and animate the world.
