Fate/Grand Order (English) puts a tactical card-based battle system at the service of a time-travel story about investigating the disappearance of human history. Players take the role of Masters, summon Heroic Spirits known as Servants, and form parties to confront threats across missions called the Grand Order. This structure gives each battle a place in a larger serialized narrative, while the extensive main scenario and character quests offer story content for players interested in the world and its cast as well as combat.
Time-travel missions and story quests
The central missions focus on Singularities—events in which Masters must intervene to protect human history. The game’s main scenario is joined by numerous character quests, with the source describing the combined original narrative as totaling millions of words. These quests provide additional story focused on individual characters alongside the broader plot.
Command-card battles and party choices
Combat is turn-based and uses command cards. Players assemble teams of Heroic Spirits and choose cards to create strategic combinations during encounters. Party-building and card choices connect the roster to the moment-to-moment battles, while the touchscreen-oriented format is designed for play on mobile devices.
A roster of familiar and new Servants
The cast includes both recognizable Fate characters and newly introduced Servants. Character quests and ongoing development give the roster a narrative role as well as a team-building one, letting players explore characters beyond their use in battle.
Device requirements and creative team
The stated requirements are Android 4.1 or higher and at least 2GB of RAM; devices with Intel CPUs are listed as incompatible. The game may still fail to run on some devices that meet those requirements, and beta operating systems are not supported. The source also says the app collects certain personal data to provide the game and relevant advertising. TYPE-MOON is credited with presenting the title, with scenario direction by Kinoko Nasu, character design and art direction by Takashi Takeuchi, and scenario contributions from Yuichiro Higashide and Hikaru Sakurai.
