12 Labors is an episodic casual adventure game set in a Greek world where players take on the role of Heracles, embarking on his 12 labors and a journey toward godhood. Along the way, players encounter a diverse cast of characters, become involved in major events, and make choices by clicking to influence the story's direction. The gameplay combines point-and-click mechanics with a story-driven framework, offering hand-drawn 2D art to present its playful take on classic mythology.
How does the game's story and structure unfold?
The narrative begins when Zeus and Hera pull Heracles up to Mount Olympus from city life and challenge him to complete their labors under the threat of failure and death. The game uses a chapter-based design where Chapter 1 serves as a standalone episode with its own beginning and conclusion. Subsequent chapters follow in a sequential saga structure, though individual chapters can be played independently from start to finish.
What mechanics are involved in progressing through the trials?
Players use point-and-click controls to move between scenes, interact with objects, and engage with characters. As progress is made, completing each trial ties into encounters along the way. Players can make choices by clicking to win the favor of characters, such as orcs, which advances the story and unlocks animated scenes as interactions deepen.
Who might find this game interesting to play?
Fans of episodic, story-driven casual games and point-and-click adventures who enjoy a playful take on Greek mythology may find this title appealing. Players looking for a sequential saga structure with hand-drawn 2D art and choices that influence narrative progression will find that the game's current chapter and planned updates focus on delivering these interactive storytelling elements.
