VPN Infinity - Network Security & Free VPN Proxy is an Android app for creating an encrypted VPN connection while browsing the internet. It uses the IKEv2 protocol and is described as supporting Wi-Fi, LTE, 4G, 3G, and other mobile data connections.
Encrypted browsing and privacy
The app routes your connection through a VPN and hides your IP address. This is intended to make browsing more private and reduce direct exposure to snoopers, advertisers, and other third parties. VPN Infinity also encrypts data sent through the connection, which can be useful when using public Wi-Fi hotspots where personal information may otherwise be exposed to potential attackers.
Proxy locations and restricted access
VPN Infinity provides multiple proxy server locations. By connecting through one of these locations, you can browse as though you were accessing the internet from another country. The source describes this function as a way to bypass blocked websites, apps, internet filters, and location restrictions.
The proxy connection is also presented for accessing services such as streaming platforms, social networks, and messaging apps when network restrictions prevent direct access. Actual access can depend on the destination service, its policies, and the network being used.
Connection considerations
The app is described as a free VPN for Android. Its privacy features can increase protection by encrypting data and hiding the IP address, but a VPN cannot make an online connection completely anonymous. The app's usefulness therefore relates to added privacy and encrypted routing rather than a guarantee of total anonymity.
