UPX is a VPN-enabled browser that combines web browsing with proxy tools to help users reach blocked websites and browse with a masked IP address. Its main task is to provide access to web content while adding privacy features within the browser. Users can switch between servers and regions, open incognito mode, or delete browsing history. The app also describes built-in encryption, an ad blocker, and firewall features. It advertises more than 1,000 servers and unlimited browsing, while noting that protection is limited to activity inside UPX.
How does UPX help users reach websites?
The browser offers built-in proxy servers and IP switching, with the aim of helping users access websites that are blocked by firewalls or restricted in their location. The description names services such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and mentions use on school, office, work, or hotspot Wi-Fi networks. It says that the proxy is ready to use without extra configuration.
UPX advertises access to more than 1,000 servers worldwide and says browsing has no bandwidth or speed limits. It also presents the browser as suitable for streaming and gaming, though it notes that high-traffic servers may sometimes have latency.
What privacy options and connection protections are included?
UPX says it hides a user's real IP address by providing a private IP and includes incognito browsing and an option to delete browsing history. Its description also claims a no-logs policy and protection against tracking. These features are presented as applying to browsing through the app.
The app lists AES 128-bit encryption and other encryption protocols, along with a VPN connection that it describes as always on. It also claims fail-safe protection if the VPN connection drops. These are stated features of the app, not a guarantee that every online activity is protected.
What tools are built into the browser?
Alongside the proxy and VPN features, UPX lists an ad blocker and firewall. The description says the ad blocker may save data and battery, and mentions a safety tunnel and Tor tunnel technology for browsing protection. It also describes the browser as having Chrome browser functionality, but does not specify additional browser tools in detail.
Does UPX protect activity in other apps?
No. The supplied description says IP masking and firewall bypass are confined to UPX's browser environment. Email, messaging, and other apps remain outside its protection layer, so users seeking coverage for activity across the device would need tools beyond this browser.
Who may find UPX useful?
UPX may suit people who want proxy-based access to websites from within a browser, along with browser-level options such as incognito mode, history deletion, and an ad blocker. Its limits matter for anyone expecting VPN protection for the device as a whole: the described features apply to web browsing in UPX, and the app notes that busy servers can experience latency.
