Live sports radio and game coverage
Sports Radio WFNZ is an Android app from Urban One, Inc. that brings the Sports Radio WFNZ station to a phone, so listeners can tune in to live broadcasts from wherever they are. According to the developer's description, the app is intended for people who want to follow live games and major sporting events as they happen, whether they are at work, at home, or on a road trip.
The description says the station covers a broad range of sports, including football, basketball, baseball, and hockey. Listeners can also follow scores, game highlights, game analysis, and opinions from experts, which the description presents as part of the station's regular updates.
On-demand podcasts and interviews
For listening at a different time, the app offers on-demand content. According to the description, this includes podcasts, interviews, and analysis from sports personalities. The developer presents this as a way to stay informed when a schedule does not allow listening to a live broadcast.
Personalized listening controls
The app includes personalization tools. Users can create playlists of favorite shows, podcasts, and interviews, and set reminders for upcoming games, episodes, or events. The description frames these controls as a way to adjust sports radio listening to individual preferences.
Availability and connection requirements
The developer's FAQ states that the app is available for iOS and Android devices and can be found by searching for Sports Radio WFNZ in Google Play. The description says the app is free to download. It also states that listening outside the Charlotte area requires an internet connection. The supplied data does not clearly state the minimum Android version, so that detail is not included here.
