Satellite View combines map and travel tools to help you navigate and stay informed while exploring. Its satellite imagery offers a bird’s-eye perspective of landscapes and urban areas, while offline maps can support navigation in places without internet access. You can save locations to revisit or use as waypoints, check your speed in real time, and use the compass to find your way. The app also provides weather updates, bringing several kinds of travel information together for trips in familiar or remote areas.
How can satellite imagery help when exploring?
The Satellite View feature displays landscapes and urban areas from a bird’s-eye perspective. This can help you look for landmarks and get a different view of the surroundings when exploring a new area.
Can you use maps where there is no internet connection?
Satellite View includes offline maps that you can download before heading to a remote location. Once downloaded, the maps are intended to support navigation when an internet connection is unavailable.
What can you save or check during a journey?
You can save places on the map for easy access later, including favorite spots and waypoints for future trips. The app also has a speedometer that monitors speed in real time, with hikers, bikers, and drivers named as potential users of this feature.
Does Satellite View include tools beyond maps?
Yes. A compass is included to help with finding your way, and the app provides updates on weather conditions. Together with satellite imagery, saved locations, and offline maps, these tools may be useful to people who want navigation and basic travel information in one app while exploring.
