Raise to Wake enables users to wake their Android device's lock screen by raising the phone, providing quick access to notifications without pressing the home button or other controls. This approach suits anyone who wants to glance at messages or alerts while the device remains locked, and it supports instant replies directly from the lock screen. The app also works with devices that have a proximity sensor and remains compatible with Android Nougat.
Sensitivity Levels and Screen Duration
Users can choose from ten sensitivity settings that determine how readily the sensor detects a raise motion. A separate screen-on timer lets them set how long the display stays active after activation, giving control over both responsiveness and display time.
Background Stability and Automatic Recovery
The app operates without showing persistent notifications and continues running in the background. If the system removes or stops it, the app restarts on its own to maintain the raise-to-wake function.
USB Mode, Clap Activation, and Privacy
When the phone connects to USB, such as in a car, the sensor can be disabled automatically. An optional clap-to-activate feature turns the screen on with a hand clap and requires only microphone permission for that mode; no other permissions are needed. Battery-saving techniques reduce CPU usage, and users can apply battery limit settings.
Additional Controls and Face Unlock Support
Double-tapping the home screen or home button turns the screen off, while pressing a volume button turns it on. Raising the phone can also help users who rely on face recognition by waking the device before the unlock attempt.
